Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Nairobi

Our Mahanda Africa safaris representative will pick you from the airport and transfer you to your hotel in Nairobi where you will have a rest for the night.

Day 2: Transfer to Amboseli

Our guide will pick you up from your Nairobi hotel debrief you then depart for Amboseli one of the popular parks in Nairobi. The nature lovers can explore the different habitats like the sulfur springs, the savannah and the woodlands. You will then return to your hotel for lunch before taking an exciting game drive in the afternoon.

Note that you will have 2-3 stop overs on this day.

Day 3:  Full day game drive in Amboseli

This day have a pre-breakfast 6:30a.m to 9a.m. You have an option of bush breakfast and return later to the camp. Another game drive in the afternoon for 2 hours. The rest of the time is spent in lodge’s facilities

Optional Activities – Balloon ride and Cultural tour

Day 4: Transfer to Nairobi

After your breakfast you will depart for Nairobi. Arrive and visit David Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage and Giraffe Centre. Have lunch then be dropped off at the hotel to relax.

 Day 5: Transfer to Aberdares

After your breakfast you will then depart for Aberdares. Have lunch at Aberdares Country Club and thereafter have a joint game drive to The Ark lodge. The lodge has a deck where you can watch animals drinking water from the waterhole near it.

Day 6: Transfer to Samburu

After your breakfast you will be transferred to the park’s gate where you will meet with your driver. Immediately depart for Samburu passing through the equator line to Samburu land. You will have a game drive on your way to the camp. Afternoon game drive is at 4p.m. for 2 hours.

Samburu Park has unique residents including the Reticulated Giraffe, Grevy’s Zebra, Beisa Oryx and the Blue legged Somali Ostrich.

Day 7: Full day game drive in Samburu

You will have two game drives on this day; pre-breakfast and afternoon game drives. Northern-Kenya have unique species including reticulated giraffe, beisa oryx, Grevy's zebra, and the long-necked gerenuk. Much of the reserve consists of desert landscape; dusty red plains broken by thorny scrub, featuring dramatic views of table-top Mt Ol Olokwe on the horizon. All meals will be taken at the lodge.

Optional Activities – Cultural tour & A visit to Reteti Elephant Sanctuary

Highlights

Day 8: Transfer to Sweetwaters Game Sanctuary

After your breakfast you will depart for Sweetwaters to arrive just in time for lunch. After lunch, enjoy an afternoon game drive observe chimps from the Jane Goodall Institute at the Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary and a visit to Rhino Sanctuary.

Day 9: Transfer to Lake Naivasha

After your breakfast you will depart for Lake Naivasha. After your lunch you will embark on a boat ride to Crescent Island for a guided walk. The boat ride will give you an opportunity to see hippos and diverse species of birds.

Day 10: Transfer to Maasai Mara

After your breakfast our guide will you transfer to Maasai Mara. The road to Mara is a scenic one; passing through valleys, plantations and small towns which will make your journey an interesting one. Arrive in Maasai Mara in time for lunch. Afternoon game drive will take 2 hours.

Day 11 & 12: Full day game drive in Maasai Mara

These 2 days will be spent on full-day game drive in search of the big five and many other wildlife that inhabits these beautiful savannah plains. There will be picnic lunch on the banks of Mara River or a good picnic site picked by the guide. Alternatively, have morning and afternoon game drives

Optional activities: Hot air balloon, cultural tour, sundowner, bush meals and guided nature walks

Day 13: Transfer to Nairobi

After your breakfast you will embark on the journey back to Nairobi. Have lunch and thereafter be dropped off at your hotel or airport.
