Detailed Itinerary
DAY 1: ARRIVAL IN UGANDA
Your driver/guide will pick you up from Entebbe airport and transfer you to ViaVia Guest house, only a 10 minute drive from the airport. This is where your Mahanda Safaris driver/ guide will find you tomorrow morning for the start of your tour after a good breakfast.
Depending on the time of your arrival, you might have time to explore Entebbe town. There are many options in Entebbe and a tour can easily be organized through the reception of ViaVia Guesthouse. For example, you could visit the Botanical gardens or the Uganda Wildlife Education Centre (UWEC). Please note that all activities and transportation for today are at your own cost.

DAY 2: TRANSFER TO THE DENSE KIBALE NATIONAL PARK
Today you drive west taking in the scenic views of the Ugandan countryside as we head to Fort Portal. You shall have a stopover for lunch in Fort Portal town. Fort Portal is a beautiful town nestled in the shadow of the “Mountains of the Moon.” Enjoy the short respite in this charming town before moving on to the iconic forests of Kibale National Park, where you will turn in for the night at Rweteera Safari Lodge.

DAY 3: CHIMPS TRACKING AND BIGODI SWAMP WALK
After an early morning breakfast, you will have a briefing by your guide before embarking on the chimpanzee tracking. The evergreen Kibale Forest holds the widest variety and highest concentration of primates in East Africa. On a guided nature walk, you can expect to encounter wild chimpanzee, red-tailed monkeys, black-and-white colobus monkeys and more. You will return to your lodge for lunch and later set out to Bigodi Swamp, an ideal place for bird lovers. After a satisfying day of exploration, we return to our lodge in time for dinner.

DAY 4: TRANSFER TO QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK AND EVENING GAME DRIVE
After an early morning breakfast, you will check out of your lodge and head out for a brief morning tour of Lake Nyabikere, where you will enjoy the magnificent view of this vibrant crater lake, cradled in vegetation and gentle hills. You will also visit other nearby crater lakes with their stunning beauty. After lunch, you will head toward the iconic Queen Elizabeth National Park just in time for an evening game drive. You can look forward to seeing warthogs, buffalo, waterbucks, and elephants before checking in for a night of comfort at Park View Safari Lodge.

DAY 5: MORNING GAME DRIVE AND AFTERNOON BOAT CRUISE
After an early morning breakfast, you will embark on a game drive in Queen Elizabeth National Park. This is a great opportunity for wildlife sightings as animals tend to be more active in the wee hours of the morning. After lunch and some much needed relaxation, you will head out for an afternoon boat cruise along the iconic Kazinga Channel. Hippos, crocodiles, and other mammals, reptiles, and birds congregate at the riverbank in the afternoon heat.

DAY 6: TRANSFER THROUGH ISHASHA AND INTO THE BWINDE IMPENETRABLE FOREST
Today you will depart from Queen Elizabeth National Park driving through the Ishasha section of the park, where you might chance on the tree climbing lions of Ishasha. You will drive across the stunning landscapes of south west Uganda to reach Bwindi National Park, where you will seek out another rare creature, the mountain gorilla.

DAY 7: GORILLA TREKKING
Today is the day you have been waiting for. After breakfast, you will have a briefing at the park offices and be allocated a gorilla tracking group. The briefing will give you tips to follow in preparation for a close encounter with the gentle giants. Guided by an experienced gorilla tracker, you will brave a challenging trek through Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. It may take minutes or hours of walking through thick vegetation before you set our eyes on the iconic mountain gorilla.
Upon return from the deep forest, you will take a refreshing rest at the lodge. Later on, you may choose to set out for a community walk, a charming experience with the local people and a closer look into their culture.

DAY 8: RETURN TO KAMPALA/ENTEBBE AND EQUATOR STOP
After a fun-filled adventure of seven days, we check out of the lodge and begin our journey to a preferred drop off point in Kampala/Entebbe. We will stop over in Mbarara for lunch and at the Uganda Equator for pictures and shopping for souvenirs or gifts for friends and family.
