Uganda Big Five Safari in Murchison Falls National Park

You will be picked up by your guide from Entebbe to start your road trip to Murchison Falls National Park. The drive will take you through the beautiful Ugandan countryside with a stopover at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary.

At the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, you can look forward to encountering the endangered Southern White Rhinos in their natural habitat. Depending on the time, you will also have lunch before continuing your journey to the Murchison Falls National Park.

You will arrive at Murchison Falls National Park in the evening & check in to Fort Murchison Lodge for relaxation, dinner & your overnight stay. The lodge is set in a beautiful surrounding looking out over the majestic Albert Nile River and offering a beautiful and relaxing view.

Today you will wake up early in the morning, and after an early breakfast, start your morning game drive just before the break of dawn. Sunrise is the best time for wildlife spotting as animals tend to be the most active during the “golden hours”, when the first rays of sunshine come to rest on the savannah. Elephants, buffalo and several species of antelope are some of the characters you may come across today. If you’re lucky, you may even spot a lion or leopard.

After lunch, you can look forward to a 3-hour boat safari on the Victoria Nile upstream to the waterfalls. The scenery is breathtaking and the riverbanks teeming with wild life including crocodiles, hippos, buffaloes, water birds, monkeys & other animals that come down to the Nile to drink water

As an optional activity, you can chose to take a hike (1-1.5 hours) up to the top of the falls (optional at additional cost of $15 pp).

After your boat safari, you will return to the lodge for relaxation, dinner and an overnight stay.

Today, you will enjoy your last sunrise and breakfast in this beautiful National Park. Your day will begin with a 30-minute to 1-hour walk to the top of Murchison Falls.

Afterwards, you will travel by road to Kibale National Park with a stop for lunch along the way.

You will be staying at the Rweteera Safari Park for the next two nights, where you will experience the jungle's unique atmosphere with its forest smells and sounds. You will also see primates swinging through the trees, rare birds, and beautiful butterflies fluttering around. The elegant, tented camp is located in a patch of evergreen forest which borders the Magombe swamp, and it's just a 10-minute drive to the chimp tracking site.

After an early breakfast, you'll venture into Kibale National Park for an unforgettable Chimpanzee Tracking experience. Following an experienced guide, you'll venture deep into the forest to observe these fascinating creatures up close. As you wander through the dense foliage, you'll be immersed in the sounds of the forest - the rustling of leaves, the chirping of birds, and the occasional hoot or screech of primates.

As you watch the chimpanzees interact with one another, you'll see them grooming, playing, and foraging for food. You'll be amazed by their intelligence and social behavior, and the experience is sure to be one you'll never forget.

In the afternoon, after a delicious lunch, you'll have the option to explore the local community on a guided walk or delve deeper into the forest on a Swamp Walk in the Bigodi Wetland. The wetland is home to a diverse range of wildlife, including eight species of primates, over 200 bird species, butterflies, and reptiles. As you wander through the lush vegetation, you'll be surrounded by the sights and sounds of nature.

In the evening, you'll return to your Lodge/Camp for a well-deserved rest, dinner, and overnight stay. Don't forget to take some time to reflect on the incredible experiences of the day, and get ready for traveling back home tomorrow!

Today, you'll be bidding farewell to the stunning corner of Uganda and heading back to Entebbe. Your guide will drop you off at Entebbe International Airport three hours before your flight's departure time. Please ensure that your flight's departure time is no earlier than 4 pm local time. If your flight departs before 4 pm, you will need to plan for an additional night in Entebbe, which we can arrange for you at an extra cost.
